Solar & battery for Cold storage & refrigeration
Refrigeration runs around the clock, so roughly half your consumption happens when the sun isn't up.
A load that never stops, and one that punishes an outage.
It comes down to the load shape
Typical profile
Continuous 24/7 base load with a pronounced summer daytime peak.
Cold storage is a continuous load, which means a solar-only system covers the daylight half and leaves the rest untouched. That's still worthwhile — but it caps what solar alone can achieve, and it's the reason these sites almost always model better with storage in the mix.
Summer makes it sharper. Ambient heat drives compressor duty up at exactly the time of year the site is most expensive to run, and that peak is at least aligned with generation, which helps the case.
The other consideration is what an outage costs. For most businesses a power failure is an inconvenience; here it's spoiled stock. Backup capability is worth costing on its own merits rather than being treated as a bonus feature of a solar quote.
Roughly half the load falls outside daylight — solar alone caps out
Summer compressor duty aligns well with generation
Outage cost is stock loss: price backup on its own merits
How we work
Feasibility, ROI, approvals, then install
Every project starts with your actual interval data rather than an assumption about your sector. The pattern above is where we start looking, not what we conclude.
Turnkey project management
From feasibility studies and system design through to grid connection approvals and compliance — we manage every stage.
Grid compliance & DNSP approvals
Expert navigation of the regulatory frameworks, working directly with Distribution Network Service Providers.
Network & retailer collaboration
We work with energy retailers and embedded network operators to ensure smooth integration into energy markets.
In-house servicing & warranty
We handle all warranties in-house, with our own technicians providing ongoing maintenance and long-term support.

Talk to us about cold storage & refrigeration
Send us twelve months of interval data and we'll model what a system would actually do on your site — generation, demand reduction, rebates and payback.
